Michelle Dornfeld leads the Business Development & Strategic Partnerships team at Toggle, a modern insurance startup within the Farmers Insurance family. In this role, Michelle leads the embedded insurance strategy for Toggle and sources key strategic distribution partners that align with Toggle’s target market. Toggle’s unique auto, home, and renters product design and user experience have helped position it as a leading carrier in the embedded insurance space. Prior to this role, Michelle served in a variety of leadership positions over her 18-year career at Farmers, including Head of Strategy & Execution, where she oversaw the enterprise strategic planning process, and Head of Business Integration, where she led a number of cross-functional enterprise teams including the Program Management Office, Lean Center of Excellence, and Information Governance hub. Michelle has a Molecular and Cellular Biology degree from Northwestern University and lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two teenage sons (send help!), and two rescue pups. I’m the Auto Industry Liaison working directly with all auto manufacturers that operate in North America. My primary function is creating and maintaining long-lasting relationships with the OEMs with an emphasis on Service Engineering for the benefit of our Mutual Customers. I also provide technical support for the Vehicle Research Facility, Claims Research Auto Support Hotline (CRASH), Auto Innovation, Auto Safety groups, and P&C Claims here at State Farm. I began my career at State Farm in 1990 in the former Ohio Region as an Auto Estimatics Inspector and became a Property Claim Trainer there in 1995. In 1997, I operated as a special projects Trainer in Ohio and assisted in the implementation training of the Claim Processor position in the Zone. In 1998, I became an Instructor at the Corporate Office and was responsible for co-authoring and delivering the Estimatics and Management schools as well as the Select Service workshops in Bloomington and around the Company. In June 2004, I became an Estimatics Team Manager in the Northeast Zone where I managed a Claim Operation and Select Service program in South-Central PA. In January 2012, I returned to the home office to become the Auto Industry Liaison in Enterprise Research. All the opportunities I’ve had at State Farm have kept me close to the Collision Industry. Prior to my career at State Farm, I owned and operated a Collision Repair Facility in the Cleveland Ohio market. I am also an ASE and I-Car Certified Collision Technician, current CIC member, am very passionate about supporting our secondary and post-secondary collision vocations and have been an automotive enthusiast all my life.

With a desire to better understand the full insurance landscape and market, Allison joined LexisNexis Risk Solutions – Insurance. With a role in the Business Program Management Office, Allison worked with a multitude of national, regional, and super regional carriers to partner in bringing data solutions to the insurance workflow. With an opportunity to return back to the carrier space, Allison joined State Auto Insurance again in 2020 – this time to build out a new role and function – Strategic Vendor Management. While in this role, Allison worked to represent State Auto Personal and Commercial Lines Product units with all vendor partners. With the acquisition of State Auto by Liberty Mutual finalized in 2022, Allison moved to continue Strategic Vendor Management within the Liberty Mutual PL & BL Product functions.
