William Self currently is Vice President of Data Science & Analytics for H&R Block, leading the enterprise data-and-analytics function.

Before joining H&R Block, Will was the Chief Data & Analytics Officer for USAA’s Life Insurance Company, Investment Management Company, and Asset Management Company. He has worked in corporate strategy at Liberty Mutual, in analytics-oriented startups, and in academia, directing a research lab at the University of Missouri–Kansas City and teaching at several other business schools, including UC Berkeley, Washington University in St. Louis, and Fudan University in Shanghai, China.

Will is a recognized thought-leader in data and analytics, speaks frequently at academic and industry conferences, and has consulted with numerous Fortune 500 companies. His research has been published in top academic journals, including the Leadership Quarterly, the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, and PLOS One.

Will graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with an A.B. in Social Studies and received an M.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
