Nathan DauSchmidt is the AVP of Strategy & Innovation at Great American Insurance Group where his primary responsibility is strategic planning for the 37 business units. Great American is known for their underwriting discipline, high-level of claims service, and entrepreneurial spirit with largely autonomous business units. Previously, he worked in Business and Corporate Development for American Family Insurance. There he oversaw the acquisition of the first non-insurance business that created a significant new homeowner lead source and a strategic data asset. While in Product Management, Nathan coordinated the team that created the customer lifetime value model. He loves the nuances of the insurance industry– a major highlight was the creation of a bespoke E&O product at Lloyd’s. Nathan also spent time leading partnership discussions for USAA’s Innovation team with large tech companies and the nexus between connected devices, home services, and insurance. Nathan holds a CPCU designation. He has previous experience in management consulting and central banking.
