Matthew Gabriel is Vice President, Head of Advanced Customer Analytics & US Segment Advanced Analytics at Manulife and John Hancock. In this role, he leads the company’s global efforts in researching, incubating, building, and deploying advanced customer analytics solutions. He and his team are tasked with building an intelligent customer data foundation and applying advanced statistical techniques to generate unique customer insights and bring those insights to life across the company.
In his role as Head of US Segment Advanced Analytics, Matt leads the delivery of solutions that use analytics to deepen distribution relationships, and create a faster, less invasive purchase process for life insurance. Additionally, his team plays a vital role in portfolio optimization, supporting priority Inforce initiatives across life, annuities, and long-term care with a primary focus on LTC claims management, fraud and wellness.
Over the course of his 15-year tenure at John Hancock, Matt has effectively developed business strategy and implemented innovative solutions to complex problems in a variety of roles. He previously served as AVP of Innovation, in which he developed a number of product innovations that improved expected mortality and reduced risk. He was the lead inventor of John Hancock’s patented dynamic billing system ‘LifeTrack’, designed to keep customer life insurance products on-track with their original insurance objectives.
Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University, where he majored in Finance and Mathematics. He is a Fellow in the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and the recipient of a 2012 Manulife Star of Excellence Award.
