Sandro Matter spent most of his professional career in business management as well as strategy and business development roles within the international wealth management area. When seeking personal life risk coverage advice for his family (in context of buying a house), he got referred to insurance consultant Daniel Schmidheiny – with whom Sandro eventually launched vlot in 2017.

Sandro holds a Master of Arts degree in Banking and Finance from the University of St. Gallen and is a former Swiss vice champion in road-ultra-cycling in the team of two category (obtained at TORTOUR 2016, a 1’000 km non-stop race around Switzerland) – together with vlot co-founder Daniel.
