Rebecca joined the Association of British Insurers (ABI) earlier this year as the Assistant Director, Head of Health and Protection, having worked in health policy for over twenty years in a variety of roles.
The ABI is a trade association representing the UK’s insurance and long-term savings industry. The role of the ABI includes helping to inform public policy debates, supporting consumer understanding of insurance, and supporting a competitive industry that meets societal needs.
The Code on Genetic Testing and Insurance is a voluntary code of practice between the Government and the ABI setting out a shared agreement on the role of genetic testing in insurance. In addition, the ABI has published a Consumer Guide on genetic testing an insurance and publishes annual reports on compliance with the Code.
The ABI’s membership includes over 200 companies, including most household names and specialist providers.
