Michael Eksteen

Vice President of Digital, Chubb

Mike Eksteen is Vice President of Digital for Chubb in Asia Pacific. He is responsible for growing the business with a focus to building digitized insurance services, acquiring new distribution channels and enabling partner ecosystems in both developed and emerging markets across Asia.

Since joining Chubb in May 2016, Mr. Eksteen has built Chubb Digital, an integrated digital unit in Asia Pacific tasked to transform insurance from a product focussed to a customer-first approach. This included development of the digitalization vision, business strategy and core team for the region. He played a key role in designing the Chubb API and cloud infrastructure, developing digital products and onboarding new digital economy partners.

Prior to joining Chubb, Mr. Eksteen co-founded and successfully exited a number of diverse ventures including The Bakery Ideas Company, a digital solutions driven consultancy & venture studio operating in South Africa that specialised in digital business solutions and product development.

He started his career in the mobile technology field focussed on mobile solutions for the advertising/media industry and airtime distribution for emerging market segments in partnership with Vodacom South Africa (Vodafone).

Mr. Eksteen is an entrepreneur at heart and believes that the mix of creative thinking, experience design, technology and the ability to simplify play a crucial role in building future solutions, challenge business models and drive change.
