Matthew James serves as Head of Business Development for OTT Risk where he leads the insurance function of the London MGA- seeking out new business, structuring products and engaging with (re)insurers for risk capacity support. Matthew joined OTT Risk soon after its launch in 2020. OTT Risk is a recent graduate from the Lloyd’s Lab innovation incubator. 

Matthew has significant experience innovating within the (re)insurance industry, working across embedded insurance and the Sharing Economy, climate, agriculture and micro-insurance. He was previously employed by Willis Towers Watson where he worked for ten years in Alternative Risk Transfer, covering consulting, structuring and execution. He specialised in building novel parametric solutions for clients. 

 
Matthew holds his Investment Management Certificate with the CFA Institute, the Advanced Certificate with the Chartered Insurance Institute and has a B.A. in Politics from Durham University.
