Karl Gray is currently the VP Chief Underwriting Officer at Wakam, where he is responsible for pricing, underwriting and product in the UK and Europe.  Wakam is a B2B2C (commercial and personal) insurance company that creates and underwrites white-label insurance solutions for more than 150 distribution partners and over 8 million policyholders.  Wakam is the European leader in digital and embedded insurance and one of the fastest growing insurers in Europe.

Prior to Wakam Karl was the EMEA Director for Uber’s Insurance division – leading the development of new products and managing existing insurance programs – and prior to that was the Global Head of Retail Underwriting for the Zurich Insurance Group.

Karl has over twenty years of Global Leadership within the Insurance Sector.  He has successfully developed and executed strategy and change across multiple geographies, with specific expertise in fast flow insurance, underwriting automation, digital insurance solutions and portfolio management for retail insurance.
