Hemant Sarma leads Chubb’s global Internet of Things (IoT) division and is responsible for developing enterprise strategies that leverage internet-connected technology to advance the company’s best-in-class risk engineering services. Chubb is the world’s largest publicly traded property and casualty insurer.
Mr. Sarma is focused on improving the alignment of insurance exposure rating and risk assessment with real-time, data-driven accuracy. He is also responsible for the success of StreamLabs, a manufacturer of consumer and commercial IoT water sensors acquired by Chubb in 2021.
Mr. Sarma has been with Chubb for 25 years and prior to standing-up the IoT division, he was a Global Client Executive in the North American Real Estate & Hospitality division. His notable prior roles include serving as Property leader for Chubb’s Real Estate & Hospitality Division, Regional Product Manager in the company’s North American personal lines division and as a Multinational Risk Underwriter. Mr. Sarma graduated from Georgia State University with a Master of Science degree in Risk Management & Insurance. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate of Reinsurance (ARe) designation from The Institutes.
