Hassan El-Shabrawishi is the CEO of AXA Africa Health and Strategic Development Officer for Africa since January 2018. He is member of the Executive Committee of AXA’s International and New Markets and a member of the global leadership team of AXA Group.
Hassan was previously the Chief Innovation Officer for AXA Group and CEO & Founder of AXA Next – dedicated for business model innovation. In 2016, he was selected as one of the top 10 economic young leaders in Africa by “Institut Choiseul”.
Hassan previously founded AXA in Egypt and became its Chief Executive Officer in September 2014. Today, he is the Chairman of AXA Egypt, AXA Algeria and MicroEnsure in addition to being a board member of several other insurance companies across Africa and the US.
Hassan joined AXA in 2010 as a Business Transformation Leader based in Madrid – covering the Mediterranean and Latin America region. In 2013, Hassan became the assistant to the deputy CEO of AXA Group. Based in Paris, he led strategic functions that included AXA’s large accounts’ management and global partnerships.
Hassan is a certified director from the National Association of Corporate Directors in the US and holds an honors degree in Finance and Economics from Richmond University in London. He holds an international MBA from IE Business School in Spain; a top ranked business school renowned for its focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. Hassan is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, which is the highest recognition a business graduate anywhere in the world can receive.
