Guenter Kryszon has responsibility for Markel’s corporate initiatives around capacity, growth, climate change, portfolio optimization and overall results oversight within the global Insurance and Reinsurance divisions, as well as partnering with the Nephila and State National teams on corporate initiatives to enhance Markel’s property and other first party portfolios.
Prior to Markel, Guenter held several executive roles within AIG with the most recent leading AIG’s North American Retail Property business. Before joining AIG in 2014, he held several roles in sales, underwriting and engineering at FM Global whom he joined in 2001.
Guenter holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He earned his Charter Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 2011 from the American Institute for CPCU and is a member of the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters. Guenter also earned his Engineer in Training (EIT) from the Georgia Board of Professional Engineers in 2006 and is a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.
