Ben Hobbs joined the University of Bristol’s Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in 2019, having previously worked within the insurance industry for 13 years.  Ben’s experience spans the full spectrum of insurance, including Price Comparison, Operations, Claims, Pricing, Finance & Business Development.  The majority of his career was spent with Admiral, where worked across the UK, USA and European markets.

As a researcher, Ben is interested in how companies can close the gap between their entrepreneurial intent and actual results. (A topic Ben’s always happy to talk about, so, please get in contact if this is a topic of interest.)

Ben also advises consultants & bankers on the challenges faced within the UK GI market, and supports the Alacrity Foundation, who are building the next generation of tech start-ups in South Wales.  He received his MBA from Cardiff Business School, and also has a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma.
