Alessandro Bonaita is Group Head of Data Science in the Head Office of Generali where he’s managing a portfolio of more than 40 international projects all over the world in order to support the digital transformation of the Group through the development of data analytics. After completing his academic track with a degree in Statistics followed by a M.Sc. in Data Science, he started his professional career at the Analytics Innovation Center of SAS Institute, working several years as Senior Principle consultant for data science projects on Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Text Analytics, Mathematical Optimization and High-Performance Forecasting in finance, telco, oil&gas and retail sectors. He also played as Technical Product Manager for analytics software.
He was then appointed Head of Analytics in RCS Mediagroup – the most important Italian media company – where he built from scratch the Marketing Analytics ecosystem while cooperating with Business Lines to promote a digital transformation program.
Before joining Generali, he took part in the start-up of Payback Italy, the biggest Italian loyalty coalition owned by American Express, playing as Head of Analytics of a Big Data environment matching customer data coming from banks, insurances, retailer, telco, petrol, travel and e-commerce partner companies.
